Hey Everyone!
It’s Friday! That means I’ve already arrived in California! You all will be well into your day by the time I’ve published this post. Before I settle into my first day at Coachella I had to show you my Big Up Patois T-Shirt! In Jamaican patois, the phrase “Big Up” means “To give respect or props to a person”. As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, Jamaicans don’t say Irie nearly as much as the media portrays. Now, the phrase “Big Up” on the other hand, is definitely a more common phrase. I can’t tell you how many reggae songs I’ve heard over the years that contain that phrase. Jamaicans are very big on showing respect, so using “Big Up” is not only fun, it’s appropriate as well!
The Big Up Patois t-shirt I’m wearing today is made from a very soft Satin Jersey. It’s also a boyfriend t-shirt which means it has a great relaxed fit. I love the way it drapes! It also feels really nice on the skin. I wore this t-shirt to the airport specifically because of the way it fits and how soft it is. I like to be comfortable when I travel and this t-shirt was PERFECT for that! Since it’s Friday and I like to give you some weekend outfit inspiration, I kept it simple. Jeans and sneakers were all I needed to make this my new favorite travel outfit!
Here’s my look:

Trust me, it’s every bit as comfortable as it looks! I hope you all have a great weekend! I’m about to immerse myself in this music, but I can’t wait to get back and tell you all about my 2nd trip to Coachella!
Is there anyone you’d like to “Big Up” with a Big Up Patois T-Shirt?
Until next time…
