Now that my blog has a new look, I would like to inform you all that there are going to be some changes coming soon (actually starting today) on this blog. I LIVE for Fashion…no doubt at all about that…but I’m want to start focusing on other things as well. One of the things I feared about becoming a blogger was painting myself into a corner and only showing one side of my personality, when there are so many other things that I’m interested in and feel I can provide some value on. I’d like to take that chance now. I can’t tell you guys how happy I am to have you reading my posts, following me on Facebook and Twitter and just supporting me in general. I hope you’ll continue to follow me as I make these adjustments. I plan to start doing posts on Fitness & Health, Home Decoration, Life Issues and much more.
PLEASE NOTE: I’m only adding things…not taking anything away. I love Fashion and that is the ultimate reason I started blogging.
Anyone who knows me well knows that I come from a musical family. I love all music. R&B, Hip Hop, Alternative Rock, Pop, Country….you name it, I like it. I’m especially fond of music and artists that most people haven’t heard of. I plan to start incorporating music into some of my posts. Who knows, maybe I’ll start doing an “Artist of the Week”…I haven’t decided yet. I’m adding a voting feature to the blog as well, so I’ll certainly use that to get your opinions.
When I was in New York for the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference, they played a lot of music I had never heard (I Shazam’d every one of them). One of the songs they played was a song called “Get Free”. The beat for the song was created by a duo by the name of Major Lazer and the singer is a woman by the name of Amber Coffman. A lot of people don’t know this but Major Lazer created the magic behind Beyonce’s lyrics on “Girls Run the World”. The beat had actually existed already with no lyrics to it. Beyonce came along and made it a hit. What I love about this song should be instantly obviously to all who know me but I’ll tell you anyway…it has a reggae beat to it. I wanted to share this song/video with you all today.
Here it is:
What do you think? I’ll have a voting button on the site soon but until then, please leave your comments!
Until next time!
