*This post is dedicated to Oksana Arkhipova
Hey Everyone!
The past few weeks were so emotional and hectic for me that I decided to take a week off from blogging. About two weeks ago now, I found out that my friend Oksana Arkhipova, owner of Geek Closet, passed away from an advanced stage of breast cancer. If you visit my blog regularly, then you probably remember me hosting a giveaway for one of Oksana’s adorable t-shirts (Geek Closet Giveaway). Although Oksana and I only met last year, in the time that I knew her, I got a chance to witness what a wonderful person she was. She unselfishly gave me tons of advice on a venture that I’m currently working on and she never expected anything in return. Whenever I was around her or talked to her she was upbeat, happy and always had a big smile on her face. It’s rare to meet people that you click with so easily. She will most certainly be missed. If there’s one thing that getting to know Oksana taught me, it’s that you can make your dreams come true. She believed in my blog and she believed in this venture that I’m undertaking (to be revealed at a later date). That means so much to me.
Today’s post is focused on distressed denim. With all of the looks I’ve created wearing distressed denim it’s not a secret that I love it. But what do you wear it with? And when is enough, enough? I say enough is never enough! LOL! In my mind, as long as it’s appropriate for the occasion, you can wear distressed denim any time. For today, I dressed up my distressed denim with a great pair of heels and a little bit of pop art. Thanks to my sister, I have this great pop art clutch that provides the perfect topping to a simple, yet chic outfit.
Here’s my look:

So what do you wear with your distressed denim?
*My thoughts and prayers are with Oksana’s family during this very difficult time.

How heartbreaking to lose someone to breast cancer. I am “lucky” in that my Mom is in remission.

Hi MD, so glad to hear that your mother is in remission. Oksana was truly a wonderful and sweet person. Although I didn’t know her that well, it really hurt to know that she passed.
