Hey Everyone!
I don’t know about you but I’m enjoying the new look of the blog! I hope you guys appreciate the change as much as I do, it was long overdue. I can’t wait for you to see the things I have in store for 2016! I’m in the process of doing some exciting new things so please stay tuned! Now that we’re in cooler temperatures, basic pieces are essential. They’re great for mixing and matching, and perfect for layering. What about fall standout pieces though? I think we get so busy looking for versatility in our clothing that we forget about daring to be different. I recently discovered a site called Closet Barcode. What I like about this site is that they embrace independent designers. They’re all about introducing their customers to hard to find designers at affordable prices. What does that mean for you? Well it means that you’re more likely to find fall standout pieces that everyone won’t have. That’s why they’re called standout pieces, right?
Today I’m wearing the Starry Winter Night Long Sleeve Top by a designer named Cherish. I usually try to emphasize popping a bit of color in the fall. I have to be honest though, I LOVE that this top is black and grey. The stars add excitement to it! It makes me think of one of my favorite paintings by Vincent van Gogh called “The Starry Night”. I purposely kept this outfit dark by wearing my leather leggings and black boots. I’m very happy with the way it turned out too!
Here’s my look:

I meant to comment last night but must have been distracted or had to go do something with my 2 year old 🙂 Oh my Gosh- I am soooo in love with the star top!!! I need it! I just went to your link to look up buying it. Unfortunately, I am so darn broke right now so I don’t think I will be getting it…. but it really is gorgeous!’
My fall/winter standout pieces are my Express MInues the Leather Jacket, my gorgeous burgundy colored sheer (polyester fabric but feels like something else) vneck top that goes with everything. I also love leather pants (on other people) but I can’t wear them myself *yet, until I lose about fifteen pounds….. I can only wear the pants that have the tight black material, and then the leather sides. And most of my boots are stand out pieces!
