Hey Afaconados!
I never thought I’d say this, but with the current 90 degree temperatures we’ve had lately, I cannot wait for Fall to usher in so I can pull out my boots, blazers and cardigans! And of course with the new season, comes new trends!
One of the latest trends to come from Fall Fashion Week 2012 is easily achievable if you feel like raiding your grandmother’s closet. It’s called “Granny Chic” and one of the things this new trend includes is shawls. Shawls date so far back it’s unbelievable! In the 1700s they were worn by the English and French elite and were viewed as both a luxury commodity and symbol of status. The amazing thing is that they haven’t evolved that much over time and they come in a variety of different fabrics and patterns. Check out a few of the looks from Fashion Week this year:
Not exactly what you might pull out of your granny’s closet if you dress it up the right way huh? Here are a few for sale in “Internet Land” at varying prices:
I know one thing….I’ll be combing the vintage stores as well as Etsy to find myself one in preparation for Fall!
Until next time!
