Hey Afaconados!
If you live in Atlanta like I do, then I don't have to tell you how miserable it has been for the past two days. Temperatures of 40-45 degrees coupled with heavy rain can make for some pretty rough weather. Like the song says…"Rainy days and Mondays always get me down"…but that does not mean you have an excuse NOT to be fashionable.
The truth is, there are some really chic looks you can sport on a rainy day. When I was in London, where it's notorious for raining "most" of the time, I noticed that just about all the guys and gals wore Trench Coats. The fabric that makes up a trench coat is made especially for the rain, so not only will you look great wearing one, but the water won't ruin the coat. I also saw women wearing what we call "Rain Boots" in the States, but what the British call "Wellies". As with the trench coat, wellies are made for the rain, so you don't have to worry about ruining the shoes. HELPFUL TIP: Whenever I wear my wellies, I make sure to bring an extra pair of shoes to change into just in case I don't want to be stuck wearing them all day.
I don't think I have to tell you that the next accessory you'll need for a rainy day is an umbrella. But not just ANY umbrella. I'm in love with Bubble Umbrellas (also called Birdcage Umbrellas). They provide great coverage so you're guaranteed not to get wet (at least not from your head to your torso). I took the liberty of finding some selections for you today. Here they are:
