Hey Afaconados!
I apologize for taking so long to do my first post on my experience at the Independent Fashion Bloggers Conference, but I’ve been sick as a dog since Monday and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Needless to say, as I write this I’m wishing I were laying down and heavily medicated. 🙂
On Day One of the conference, I have to admit, I was pretty nervous. I didn’t know what to expect and was nervous about not being dressed “enough”. I quickly realized though, that everyone would wear clothing that is unique to them, and I would be no different. New York provides the perfect backdrop for women in fashion so when I arrived and saw the building at 82 Mercer Street in Soho, I knew that when paired with the fashionistas…this would make for some excellent pictures! Everyone looked AMAZING and had their own spin on style, which is what fashion blogging is all about.
This was absolutely the right place to be for trend spotting! Some of the highlights included: Print Mixing, Colorful Hair, Stacked bracelets, Brocade Pants and Skirts, High Buns and Polka Dots.
The panels were very helpful and I made sure to take detailed notes including key take-aways to follow up on for when I got back home. Day One also included an onstage interview of Derek Blasberg by none other than Coco Rocha. Both guests were witty, funny and down to earth and I enjoyed watching them interact with each other.
I can by no means post every picture I took that day because I took SO many. But here are some that I cherry picked:
My next post will include pictures from Day Two. The surprise guest from that day almost knocked me off of my feet. Hint: She’s a Fashion Icon!
Until next time!
