Hey Afaconados!
After hearing all of the great success stories at the IFB Conference and finding out how other bloggers have incorporated personal style into their blog posts, I decided to finally get a tripod of my own so I can show you guys the types of outfits I like to put together. I like to focus more on content, so don’t expect to see an outfit post every day, but I will do some of them from time to time. Eventually, I’d like to start doing Style Snatches on myself instead of using Polyvore….so stay tuned!
I like to think of myself as somewhat of an amateur photographer and have always enjoyed taking pictures as a hobby. I can’t think of a time in my life when I did not own a camera. It’s a gorgeous day today and this morning when I took my dog Basil out, I got the rare opportunity of being able to see the sun coming up. As soon as I saw it I bolted inside to grab my camera. I took a couple of shots but chose the two I liked the most. Oh! And I even got a shot of pretty little bird that flew into view while I was taking pictures.
Here are my two favorites:
Anyway, after getting the tripod today I came home and started fiddling around with it. I have a lot of work to do when it comes to figuring out how to get the camera to take more focused pictures because the ones I took were kinda blurry. I chose to do a Boho Chic outfit today. Sometimes I think I was born a Hippie because I just naturally gravitate towards outfits that are free flowing and loose. I always try to add a modern spin on them though so that I don’t end up looking completely like a flower child.
For my look, I paired a Chambray Button-Down Shirt by BDG with a Pleated Chiffon Skirt by Sparkle and Fade. Both items were purchased at Urban Outfitters. I popped the softness of the skirt and masculinity of the boyfriend shirt with a pair of Leopard Bethany Platform Wedges by FALCHI by Falchi Shoes. To top it all off, I added a Multicolor Bead Short Link Necklace by Noir Jewelry (purchased on Gilt Groupe) and a simple woven turquoise clutch I purchased in Argentina. Chunky jewelry and animal print play a key role in making this look really stand out.
Here’s my look (pardon the quality):
I’m looking forward to doing more of these types of posts! I hope you enjoyed it!
Until next time!

Those nature pics are beautiful. The outfit is pretty! The screen is a nice backdrop.

Thank you! It’s amazing what a great camera can do! I’ll have to perfect my technique with the tripod so I can eventually venture out of the house to take pictures 🙂
