Hey Afaconados!
Today’s vintage obsession spotlight is on the Poncho. The Poncho has been around since pre-Hispanic times and were once worn by Native American people of the Andes. Made from thick, woolen fabric, they were meant to keep a person’s body warm and are also the easiest garments in the world to wear, consisting only of a large, single sheet of fabric that contains an opening for the head.
In America, Ponchos became quite popular in the late 1960’s to early 1970’s during the “Hippie Era”. Today, ponchos are part of the style we like to call “Boho Chic” or “Bohemian Chic”.
Here are my picks (all styles have been found on the Etsy website):
Until next time!
