Hey Everyone,
After a first and second day of exploring, shopping and most importantly EATING, Melanie and I decided to book a sailing tour to the island of Delos. Every hotel in Mykonos offers excursions of some sort so if you plan to visit, you can either book excursions in advance or when you get there. I was excited to be going sailing because I brought the cutest nautical midi skirt from Lulus.com with me. Once again, I wasn’t thinking about comfort so much as I was thinking about being “cute”. LOL! But whatever! Who cares about comfort when you’re in Fashion, right?
The JOA Striped Skirt is the perfect nautical midi skirt for sailing. It’s long enough for you not to have to worry about catching a bad wind, and the lightness of the fabric is great for warm temperatures. I paired it with a cute graphic tee I bought in Mykonos Town the day before and decided to pop some yellow to compliment the navy blue.
Here’s my look:

Now onto the not so good part of the day. If you’re headed to Mykonos and you’re approached about taking a sailing trip to Delos…please save your money. Melanie and I paid 40€ each for the trip and we both thought it was a waste. If you’re REALLY into ruins (and by ruins I mean stones not statues or buildings) then Delos is the place for you. If not, then don’t go. The island has no color whatsoever and the only buildings there are the museum which isn’t extravagant, a market and a few homes. I hope you guys like today’s pictures because I truly feel like they were a stretch. We had no real background to work with.
It is notable to mention, however, that the myth behind Delos is quite interesting. According to Greek mythology, Leto who was the daughter of Coeus and Phoebe, fled to the island of Delos to give birth to Zeus’ twins Apollo and Artemis after being shunned by Hera who was jealous of her. Can you say scandal? LOL!
Here are the most interesting shots of Delos I was able to take:
After our sailing trip to Delos, Melanie and I made our way back through Mykonos Town to grab a bite to eat for lunch. I had my first Gyros that day and it was AMAZING! Tomorrow, we pack up for our ferry ride down to Santorini! Don’t forget to stop by for more!
Would you rock a nautical midi skirt to go sailing?

You made the best of that background. At least you had color in your look to pop off the page 🙂

Hi Carlina! Thanks so much! I’ve always envisioned myself sailing in nautical stripes. LOL! Even though it wasn’t as elegant as I had thought it would be, I still LOVE this skirt!
