In addition to my fabulous foodie experience at Aprés Diem on Friday, I also got a chance to hear a fantastic 70’s cover band by the name of Yacht Rock Revue that I’ve been hearing about from various people for a while now. I’m an avid fan of music and enjoy listening to music of all types, especially anything from the 70’s and 80’s era.
Yacht Rock Revue has made their bread and butter performing renditions of songs by artists like Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald and Steely Dan (to name a few). They are an extremely talented group of guys and they even add a little comical flair by dressing up 70’s disco style (think John Travolta in Staying Alive).
The concert was held at Park Tavern by Piedmont Park in Midtown Atlanta, and the turn out was CRAZY! So many people came out to support them. I had such a fun time at this show! Yacht Rock fans are truly die hard, and I absolutely LOVED the captain hats they sell at their shows…I even got one for myself!
Here are some of my pics:
Yacht Rock Revue’s next performance in Atlanta will be on September 7th at the Creative Circus. For more information, check out: http://circusopenhouse.eventbrite.com/. I highly recommend going to see these guys do their thing, you’re guaranteed to have a GREAT time!
What’s your favorite 70’s or 80’s song?
Until next time!
