Hey Everyone!
It’s been a while since I’ve done a good print mix. If you’re a regular reader of my blog then you know how much I love print mixing. I swear I used to do them ALL the time. LOL! But I had to move onto styling my clothes in different ways. That doesn’t mean I don’t still love pattern play though. I’ve always found it interesting that certain prints go well together in spite of the fact that they are so different. You and I both know how complex some of these patterns can get. When it comes to pattern play, the advice I always give is to make sure the colors you select go well together. Some other advice would be to keep it light and try not to mix too many patterns at once. Print mixing is so much fun that it’s easy to go overboard.
I put together a fun, casual office look for you guys today. As always, J. Jill does NOT disappoint. They really know how to design clothing that’s relaxed yet sophisticated at the same time. Today I’m wearing the Gingham Easy Shirt and Perfect Cotton-Stretch Ankle Pants. To make the outfit more fun, I’m wearing tribal print flats in the same colors as the shirt. Even though these patterns are so different, they play together quite nicely. Now how’s that for pattern play? 🙂
Here’s my look:

Since I created this look for the office, I didn’t want to go too far. Mixing prints is definitely fun, but you don’t want to look like a clown when you go to work. Don’t forget to check out more of J. Jill’s August Collection.
How do you do pattern play?
