Hey Afaconados!
I swear, sometimes I can hear my dad’s voice in my head saying that to me when I’m zoned out in front of my laptop or the TV. My father has always had a fascination with reading and he was sure to impress that upon me when I was a child. He constantly gave me books he found interesting and I still have the leather bound Webster’s Encyclopedic Dictionary he gave me as a gift when I was 10 years old. I appreciate him so much for making sure I knew how important reading is. It’s the reason why I write.
In this world of technology that we live in, it’s so easy to forget how important it is to unplug sometimes and just pick up a good old book. Can’t escape from the technology? Well now you have options. With devices like the Nook and Kindle, you can carry all of your books around with you in one little device! I have to admit though, I’m old school. I love to the feel of a book in my hand, and like Carrie from Sex in the City, I too love the smell of the pages. Call me a nerd if you want! LOL!
Sorry to be selfish guys, but I’m not really a reader of non-fiction. So today I thought I’d list the Top 5 Fiction Books on the New York Times Best Seller List for 2012. Here they are:
1. The Bone Bed by Patricia Cornwell
2. The Panther by Nelson DeMille
3. The Twelve by Justin Cronin
4. Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
5. The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling
None of these pique your interest? Well then head to your nearest Barnes & Noble Bookstore to see what does! Just don’t forget to “Go Read A Book!”
