Hey Everyone!
Now that we’ve made it past Labor Day, the first day of Fall is right around the corner. Time has flown by so quickly. I can’t believe it’s almost time to get my summer clothes packed. I know I’ve said before that I’ll be happy to have the temperatures drop just a bit, but I’m not quite ready for the transition. Transitioning your wardrobe around this time of year can be tricky. It’s not always easy to decide which items to leave out and which ones to pack. My basic rule of thumb is to pack short dresses, cropped pants and most sleeveless tops. It’s perfectly okay to leave out a couple of tank tops because they can be layered. I never worry too much about my casual clothing when it comes to transitioning. It’s my work clothing that gives me trouble.
For work wear, silk shirt dresses are great transitional pieces. Since silk is a breathable fabric, it can be worn at any time of the year. Silk shirt dresses are also versatile. You can wear your sandals with them when it’s warm and pair with tights and boots when it’s cool. J. Jill remains one of my favorite places to find the perfect pieces for work. Today I’m wearing the Silk Shirt Dress in Grape which is part of their September Collection. Purple is already one of my favorite colors but this particular shade is so pretty. It’s not too bright and not too dull, such a great fall color!
Here’s my look:
