It feels so weird to be going back to work today. I really enjoyed my time off. For those of you who don’t know me very well, my birthday was yesterday. Honestly, it just felt like another day…just way more relaxing than most. I happily lounged around the house all day and enjoyed doing absolutely nothing at all. I guess all of this lounging will give me the energy I need to go out this weekend. I’m looking forward to going out with my friends to “officially” celebrate.
I’m super excited to be sharing another one of my thrifted fashion finds with you all today! I told you guys in a previous article (HERE) that I would be sharing the items I scored from the Thrifting Atlanta Bus Tour. Well, I think I saved one of my BEST thrifting fashion finds for last! Thanks to Diva Diva Boutique’s $1 table, I scored these amazing plaid pants for just $1…yep, you read that right, $1!! Not even I can believe it! I have to admit that I can’t take all of the credit. My best friend Melanie was the one that snagged them for me. Turns out that they were the PERFECT size! Huge thanks to Melanie for being my thrifting partner in crime 🙂
In the article I posted on Monday, I talked about how to dress UP your celebrity t-shirt. Well today’s post is all about how to dress DOWN a pair of obviously dressy plaid pants. The answer is simple. By pairing my dressy plaid pants with a denim jacket and v-neck t-shirt, I’ve successfully managed to dress down my pants. To ensure that I didn’t go TOO far dressing down my plaid pants, I added a pair of mid heeled shoes. Heels that are 4 inches high or more, are typically considered to be “dressy”. The lower heel keeps the outfit light and casual, but with a touch of sophistication.
Here’s my look:

Looking at these pictures, I’m STILL having trouble believing that I only paid $1 for them!
So, what are some of your best thrifted fashion finds?
Until next time!

Yey for fabulous $1 finds! Here in East Texas we have a MAZ ing garage sales and I just grabbed a bunch of like-new fabulous fashion clothes for .50 – $1 each 😀 I love it when you can be fashionable for pennies! Great job on your fabulous look! I love ideas to dress down fancier items as a work from home mom too.

I once found a damaged Tressje Vino bag for $1.75 at my Goodwill Bargain Store, I took that sucka to the Leather Shop nearby and got it fixed for $5.00, this bag was seriously one of my best finds since the original retail cost was about $$$$ originally.

Hi Areda!
That is an awesome find! Thank you for your comment!
