Is everyone in Atlanta ready for Atlanta Snowpocalypse: The Remix? LOL! I hope that all of you have gone to the grocery store by now and are ready for what’s about to hit our city. This snow storm is expected to be much worse than the one we had before so please, if you’re not prepared, get prepared…or by now it’s probably too late.
Since I talk so often about getting more leverage out of my clothing (HERE), I decided to start showing more ways for you all to do that. It’s a challenge for me as well, so I’m excited to take it on! Although I’m lucky to work in an office where I can wear jeans everyday, I have to admit that there are times I wish I didn’t have that flexibility. Often times when I have an event to go to after work, I go home for a quick change because what I may have worn to work that day was way too casual. The key to a great transitional look is what I like to call, “The Happy Medium.” You have to pull pieces from your closet that are both work appropriate and chic at the same time. Take what I’m wearing in today’s post for example: A cropped blazer with graphic print drawstring pants. While the print on the pants is a little edgy, it’s not over the top, which makes it work appropriate. Adding a blazer provides just the right amount of professionalism, while the fact that the blazer is cropped with puff shoulders gives the outfit more of an evening look. Most of us would not choose to carry a clutch to work, so to resolve that, simply keep the clutch in your car and switch out when you head to your event.
Here’s my look:

NOTE: The first picture in this set is INTERACTIVE and SHOPPABLE
In case you’re wondering, I got the blazer about 3 years ago from an Ideeli private sale and I recently got the top and Vince Camuto drawstring pants from TJ Maxx. What can I say, I am a Maxxinista!
How often do you transition your looks from work to evening? And what are some of your favorite transitional pieces?
Until next time!
