Hey Everyone!
The first day of spring is just a few weeks away and you know what that means, right? It’s time to start transitioning your winter wardrobe into spring! Although it may sound difficult, transitioning your wardrobe isn’t all that hard. Following a few simple rules will have you well on your way to showing your spring style, while still being weather appropriate. Here are a few tips:
- Start to sprinkle in bright colors – Popping a bright color here or there will show that you’re ready for spring while mixing them with winter colors will allow you to stay season appropriate.
- Wear colorful shoes – What better way to head into spring than to pop some color with your shoes? This is perfect for those of you wanting to be more conservative with your transition, providing the shoes are not too bright.
- Wear leggings with tunics – Since tunics are meant for spring, this is a great way to show that you’re ready for temperatures to change. Layering your tunic with leggings will keep you in the winter season.
- Swap out your bulky coat for a light jacket – Since we’re in March and the temperatures “should” be starting to warm up a bit, it’s a great idea to start wearing a light jacket or trench coat in lieu of a bulky winter coat.
For my look today, I sprinkled in some spring color with my winter black. Since my legs are bare, I went with a pair of booties to emphasize that we’re still in the winter season. The top I’m wearing was purchased on Gilt a while back and I really love the color. I’m crazy about the Neia leather and mesh booties from Schutz so I added those in for a more modern look.

Transitioning your winter wardrobe is really all about balance. Just make sure you continue to wear winter pieces while sprinkling in a bit of spring here and there and you’re good!
How do you handle transitioning your winter wardrobe into spring?
Until next time…
