Hey Afaconados!
You guys know by now that I’m ALL about saving money on shopping. I also believe that when you do shop, it’s important to think about how the pieces you buy can be worn in more ways than one. It’s a much more practical approach to shopping, unless of course you’re an impulse shopper who buys things that may look amazing, but don’t provide much versatility. And that may be okay for you, but if you’re anything like me, you’re the type of Fashionista that knows how to get mileage out of her clothing by exploring different ways to style them.
I’m usually not very good about finding alternate ways to wear pieces that fall more on the trendy side (meaning “of the moment”, not classic). And after recently purchasing a Mesh Mix Pencil Skirt from Nordstrom that I would deem to be quite trendy, I wasn’t really sure what I was going to do with it. And then it hit me, wear trendy pieces with other trendy pieces! So for this week’s Two Ways to Wear, I wanted to show you how to style a trendy piece with another trendy piece.
For Part 1 of this 2 part series, I combined the super cute Jayme Embroiered Racerback Tank I just got from Stitch Fix with my Mesh Mix Pencil Skirt and a pair of ankle strap heels. To play up the geometric print on the tank, I added my rope necklace from Topshop.
Here are the details of my outfit:
Top: Jayme Embroidered Racerback Tank by THML // $38 from Stitch Fix
Skirt: Tildon Mesh Mix Pencil Skirt // $48 at Nordstrom
Shoes: Ankle Strap Heels // $26 at Zara (sold out, but also love these)
Necklace: Rope Necklace // Topshop ( sold out, but also love this one)
Here’s my look (*Photos taken by Richard Glass):
So now that you’ve seen how I style trendy pieces, how do you style your trendy pieces?
Until next time!
