Have you ever had a dress that you love but it’s boxy and doesn’t have any shape to it? Well I’ve got something for you…an easy way to add shape to a dress! I’m sure most of you already know about belting. My job is to make sure that you don’t leave a cute dress in the store for fear that you can’t give it some shape. I’ve been belting dresses for so many years now that it’s become a common practice for me. After all, there are more uses for a belt than just to hold up your jeans.
The dress that I’m wearing today is another score from my recent shopping excursion to TJ Maxx. If you take one look at this Hi-Lo Tank Dress you may not find it terribly stylish. That all changes when you put a belt around it though. A belt can give it a whole different look! Adding a belt will also help to show off your figure. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with wearing the dress as is, it’s just that as women we all like to feel a little sexy now and then. Showing off our best assets is definitely a way to achieve that. To give my dress a more casual feel, I’m wearing a pair of my favorite gladiator sandals. As always, I try to go light on the accessories with the exception of my Clippy’s Gong Necklace from Chic Verte.
Here’s my look:

This is such an easy casual summer outfit. The fabric of the dress is so light that I barely felt it in the 90 degree heat.
