Hey Everyone!
I decided to wait a while before recapping my FABULOUS trip to Los Angeles recently for cabi Blogger Day. I wanted to make sure I could do it justice. I started this blog back in 2012. In that time, I’ve had the opportunity to work with quite a few brands. I’ve worked with big name designer brands as well as small brands. While all of them have been good to me, I can honestly say that cabi is BY FAR one of my favorites. Why? Because they care enough about me and what I do to make sure that I have all of the tools I need to represent their brand. Cabi Blogger Day wasn’t just about pampering us spoiled bloggers (yeah we can be spoiled). It was about us getting to know the brand that we’ve all been working with…and then spoiling us. 🙂 Learning about cabi’s mission statement and how much they care about how women look AND feel was enough to make me fall in love with the brand and all the ladies that work there.
After being chauffeur driven to the cabi office in the morning, the other bloggers and I met up with the team for a champagne toast! That toast was a great way to set the tone for the day…and what a day it would be! As a blogger, I can tell you that we are relentless when it comes to taking as many pictures as we can. So after all of the snapping was done, we headed in to have breakfast. It was so wonderful to connect with some new bloggers, all of whom I’m now following and supporting! After all of the girls introduced themselves, we got a chance to meet Kimberly Inskeep, President and Chief Culture Officer at cabi. What an amazing woman! First let me say…ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Kimberly’s not just beautiful though, she has such a good heart and cabi’s Heart of cabi Foundation is just one the ways that cabi gives back to women.
When breakfast was over, the ladies and I headed into the design room to see where all the magic happens! While there, we got a chance to talk with Kat Woodside, Chief Design Officer and Becky Jantzen, Style Director about the inspiration for the Spring 2017 Collection. For those of you who are not familiar with the brand, cabi is all about “Essentialism”. What that means is that they go to great pains to ensure that their pieces are wearable, trendy and versatile. Keeping all of that in mind, the inspiration behind the Spring 2017 Collection comes from the French Riviera! You can just imagine how beautiful the prints and fabrics in this collection are. That location alone says it all! It was absolutely fascinating to look at the mood boards the design team created and to hear about how they pull inspiration for the collection from some of their favorite designers!
Once our design meeting was over, we met with Amy Taylor, Director of The Heart of cabi Foundation. This was by far one of my favorite meetings of the day. We got a chance to hear about how cabi is changing the lives of women all over the world. Not only did cabi win an award recently for Social Responsibility, but they’ve also helped to fund over 9600 small business micro loans!
Meeting with Amy Taylor and hearing the stories of some of the women they have helped through the Heart of cabi Foundation literally brought tears to my eyes. Now it was time for lunch! The spread cabi had catered for us was beyond delicious with a variety of fruit, desserts and healthy options. We also got a chance to have more great conversation and to meet Lynne Cote, CEO at cabi.
One thing that the team at cabi does VERY well is talk about their products. They’re able to do that because they truly believe in what they sell. They live in and love the clothing. With our bellies full, the ladies and I got a chance to go to a mock cabi Fashion Experience. Having already been to one here in Atlanta, it was great to be able to do it all over again!
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the ladies and I met with Daniele Trussardi, Executive Creative Director at cabi. Daniele is the guy who makes the clothing come to life by creating a story for their lookbooks. He’s got the kind of job I WISH I had! LOL! After our meeting, it was time for the fun! The ladies and I got a chance to do a professional photo shoot, with hair and make up included. We even got a chance to be styled by Becky Jantzen and directed by Daniele! I felt SO important! LOL!
I could go on all day about how much fun I had at cabi Blogger Day. It was truly an event that I will never forget!
Thanks so much to the cabi team for having us visit for cabi Blogger Day!
