Hey Afaconados!
I am SO excited about today’s post after having the most AMAZING shopping experience ever! This past weekend, my girlfriend Melanie and I attended a Thrifting Atlanta event. For those of you NOT in the know, Thrifting Atlanta was created by Keren Charles, fashion blogger and thrifting expert. This fabulous and fashionable group is comprised of women from all over Atlanta who LOVE thrifting. This weekend’s event was held at Angel’s Vintage Boutique. I am so glad that I had a chance to visit Angel’s because this store is truly a hidden gem, located in Little 5 Points.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve been on lots of other great thrifting trips before…but this trip was different. Usually when I go thrifting, I buy clothes that fit just right so that I don’t have to alter the piece in any way. For this trip, however, I wanted to keep an open mind and not discount certain items just because they were 3 or 4 sizes too big. I made it a point to look at the color, fabric and style of the dress to see how I could repurpose the dress. Repurposing clothing is basically like taking that piece of clothing and making it into something totally different than what it was before (i.e. Turning a long dress into a short one or a long sleeved dress into a short sleeved dress). The reason I’m so excited about doing this is because it really forces you to use your imagination to turn that piece into something different.
WANNA SEE SOME OF MY THRIFT SCORES AND HOW I PLAN TO REPURPOSE THEM?
Well here they are!
Believe it or not, this isn’t all I got! I can’t wait to show you guys pictures of the finished products and you have GOT to stay tuned this week because I have a very special post planned so I can highlight my new favorite store Angel’s Vintage Boutique for Feature Friday.
Please visit, and “LIKE” the Thrifting Atlanta Facebook Page and request to become a member so you can get in on all of the great events coming up!
Until next time!
*Angel’s Vintage Boutique is located behind Stir it Up at 1083 Euclid Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30307.

Hi there!
I just came across your blog and I’m loving your posts! You’ve got great style and fashion sense. I’m thinking about starting to re-work vintage pieces. Really like the ideas you came up with. Are you doing the alterations yourself or using a tailor? Great job!

Hi There! Thanks so much for your comment! Unfortunately all I can do is come up with the vision, I’ll have to have them professionally altered. I really wish I knew how to sew because it would save me a ton of money. Those dresses were $5 each so hopefully it won’t cost too much to alter them. I’d love to hear more about what you plan to do! Sounds exciting!

$5?!? Wow, I’m going to check out Angels Vintage. Yes sewing is a great cost savings skill and vision is key! Been a vintage collector for years so I’m tossing around ideas in my head right now! I’ll definitely keep you posted as it comes together 🙂
