Who says I can’t wear a men’s cardigan? I wish somebody would tell me that. LOL!
On one of my many “Lunchtime Shopping Extravaganzas”, I went into Urban Outfitters in search of a Fair Isle Cardigan for a look I wanted to create. I just knew I would find what I was looking for because Urban Outfitters is a great place to find stuff like that. Well much to my disappointment, it turned out to be a bust…at least on the women’s side of the store! Just as my male coworker and I were about to leave, this gorgeous cardigan in the men’s section caught my eye. It was JUST what I was looking for! When I went over and picked it up, he laughed at me and said, “You’re not gonna buy a men’s cardigan are you?” Ha! I quickly replied, “Umm, Yes…and WHY not?!” I think he knew by the look on my face that it wouldn’t be wise to take that conversation any further. 🙂 Funny thing is, although it’s indeed a men’s cardigan, it doesn’t really look like one.
For many years now, women have been “coloring outside the fashion lines” (so to speak) and crossing over into menswear. Take my girl Marlene Dietrich, for example. She looked better in a suit than a man did. I say, if you’re gonna do it, do it well. The menswear style for women is in FULL swing this season. So if you wanna do like I did and shop on the men’s side of the store, DO IT!
Here are the details of my outfit:
Leggings: Faux Denim Leggings // Primark (old, but similar here)
Necklace: Chain Link Necklace // $25 at Target

I’m always inspired by looking at how other people style their clothing, so feel free to send me pictures of your menswear inspired outfits!
Which men’s item or items do you plan to wear this season?
Until next time!
