One of my favorite things about fashion is being able to explore how different colors and patterns go together. You really just never know what will look good until you start playing around with various concepts, which is why I’m such a big fan of Print Mixing. You’d be surprised how things you never imagined putting together can match.
I know it may sound crazy (especially since they’re so popular), but I’ve never owned a puffer vest. When I saw this striped, quilted puffer vest on the J. Crew website, I knew it was time for me to get on the band wagon and get one. By the time I hit the “Order” button, I already knew how I wanted to style this baby! The plan would be to combine all of my favorite patterns into one look! You absolutely CAN wear Stripes, Plaid and Leopard Print (or other animal prints) together….you just have to make sure the colors in each print play well with one another. Of course, there is a way to overdo this. When print mixing, try not to overwhelm the look with too much of the same print (Ex: A striped vest with a striped shirt). After all, the idea is look chic and hip…not like a clown.
Here’s my look:

Print mixing is so much fun once you get an understanding of which patterns play well together!
So, what types of print mixes have YOU experimented with?
Until next time!
