Although I am a fan of the crop top trend, I have to say that I’ve acted more as a silent fan. I have to admit, I’ve never felt confident wearing crop tops. Crazy right? I’m not sure what it is really. I guess I’m just not as comfortable in my skin as I should be. The key to pulling off the crop top trend is that you have to be very comfortable in your skin. There’s nothing worse than seeing someone wear a crop top and they’re constantly tugging on it to pull it down. Why even bother wearing it? At the beginning of this year, I made a promise to myself that I would try new trends. Part of that promise was also to make an effort to feel more comfortable with my body. I’m saving the latter part of the last sentence for another post soon to come, so please be on the lookout.
During a visit to Nordstrom Rack recently I spotted the cutest Aztec crop top. My eyes were instantly drawn to the colors and complexity of the pattern. The fact that I fell in love with this top was the sign I needed to keep the promise I made to myself. I snagged the last size small they had, so it must have been fate, right? Literally diagonal to the crop top were the most adorable chambray drawstring pants. These two pieces together were a perfect match! I have to take baby steps when it comes to wearing this trend, so I’m glad the fit of the top didn’t reveal too much of my stomach.
Here’s my look:

So what do you guys think? I tried really hard not to feel self-conscious. LOL! Cars were driving by and I did the exact thing that I said was an annoyance…started covering up my stomach. LOL! I told you guys…baby steps! But don’t be afraid to try something new with your looks.
So, would you wear the crop top trend?
Until next time!
