You may remember me mentioning in my post on Monday that my nephew and I had so much fun doing our shoot on Sunday. Well what I didn’t get to tell you is that I found a new park not far from where he lives that I wanted to visit. One of my goals for this year was to start spending more quality time with my family, especially in the wake of my father’s rapid decline in his battle with Prostate Cancer. It has been the hardest thing we’ve ever had to face. So now, more than ever, being with my family is very important to me.
I have so many fond memories of my nephew Richard as a baby and a toddler. It’s hard to believe that he’s now a 24 year old man with a family and life of his own. What better way to spend real, quality time with someone than to go to a park on a beautiful day? Sure we could have started the day at a coffee shop or restaurant, but there are so many distractions in places like that, and I wanted to really talk to him. At the park it was just the two of us, along with a great walking trail.
My outfit of choice for our stroll was a sweater I bought from Asos about 2 years ago now. I paired it with my skinny jeans from Target, wedge sneakers and a light anorak. Thanks again to my sister Michelle for the lovely necklace from Forever 21…it set off the red sweater perfectly!
Here’s my look:

It was such a good day! I look forward to spending a lot more quality time with my nephew and the rest of my family this year.
So, where do you go to spend quality time with your family?
Until next time!
