Although I wrote this post before going on my trip to Cali for Lucky FABB, by now I’ve reached LA and I can ASSURE you I’m having a blast! Please stay tuned next week to see just how great a time I actually had. LOL! Honestly, it’s sunny California, networking with some of the most fashionable bloggers in the world and did I neglect to mention that Nicole Richie will be there?! Consider me excited.
If you didn’t see my post on Monday, then you’re not aware that I’m currently having a $25 Versona Accessories Gift Card Giveaway. Don’t forget to enter for your chance to win some fabulous AND affordable accessories! As a matter of fact, the necklace you’ll see in today’s outfit post came from there. I couldn’t wait to wear it! I knew it would be the perfect addition to the Denim on Denim outfit I selected for today. I know it’s not particularly popular with some people, but I actually enjoy wearing Denim on Denim because it can look so chic when done right. You do have to be careful though because, as with any trend, there are ways to mess it up. For example, I would strongly advise against wearing a head to toe look that consists of the same color denim. That would just look tacky…and under NO circumstances should you EVER wear a denim two-piece. LOL! My suggestion for wearing Denim on Denim is to mix the colors of the fabric…preferably light with dark. This way, there’s much less overkill. You could also try a dark denim wash with an even darker wash. For my look today, I went with light and dark.
Here’s my look:

This is such a relaxed, yet chic look. I love how the jeans are so dark that they almost look like skinny pants instead of denim. I think that’s part of the reason why it works so well.
So, what do you think of wearing denim on denim?
Until next time!
