Hey Everyone!
The weekend is here and I’m so excited! Although I don’t have anything special planned, there will never come a time when I’m not happy for the weekend. From the looks of the weather reports, it’s promising to be a nice one which is definitely something to be excited about. My mom and I will be going out for our usual Saturday breakfast date. This week I’m thinking about taking her to a restaurant called Watershed. Even though the attire for this restaurant is casual, it’s more upscale casual. That means I’ll need to get creative with my outfit. I’m usually a fan of color, but lately I’ve been wearing neutral tones. It can be tricky to wear neutrals because they have a tendency to make you look washed out and even heavier at times. Some quick tips to remember when wearing neutrals tones are as follows:
- Wear tapered or skinny pants – Since neutrals have the ability to make you look heavier than you are, wearing tapered or skinny pants can help to alleviate that.
- Mix up hues – White, Beige, and Brown looked great together the last time I checked. It’s okay to wear varying hues as long as you remember what matches vs. what doesn’t.
- Think “Texture” – If your goal is to wear a dark item with a neutral item, remember that wearing textured neutrals can help to soften those dark colors.
My look for today features another great pair of shoes from ShoeDazzle. If you read my post from Wednesday, then you’ll remember some of the benefits I mentioned for joining a site like ShoeDazzle. I love that the neutral heels I’m wearing have a pop of black in them, but the black isn’t overpowering (see Tip #3 above). For my neutral look, I provided little pops of color in the infinity scarf I’m wearing. It’s enough to spice up the outfit a bit, but not so much that it takes away from the neutral tones.
Here’s my look:

When it comes to spring, wearing neutral tones can provide a cooler vibe to your overall look. In a way, it’s almost like wearing bright colors. Check out ShoeDazzle at http://www.shoedazzle.com for some amazing shoes at even more amazing prices!
Will any of you be wearing neutral tones this Spring?
