Hey, Everyone!
Everyone who knows me knows how much I enjoy eating. For me, it’s more about discovering a new place to go than just eating a meal. When I go to a new restaurant, I look for more than just good food. It’s about the entire experience. This past weekend, my husband Caswell and I went to Marietta Square after doing some decor shopping for our new house (more on that another time). During our walk, we stopped into a restaurant called Two Birds Taphouse to grab a bite to eat. Upon entering, I instantly fell in love!
First, I’m a sucker for rustic charm. The decor is super cute, with distressed wood and exposed ductwork throughout. Second, I enjoy a bar or restaurant that serves craft cocktails! I ordered the “She’s My Cherry Rye” while my husband got his usual, an Old Fashioned. I’m not a fan of sweet cocktails, so this one was right up my alley. If you plan to order the drink I got, then you should know that it’s very strong. Definitely not for the faint of heart. LOL! We started off with the Deviled Eggs. They did NOT disappoint! A hint of sweetness from the pickle mixed with the robust flavor of bacon made my tastebuds sing!
Lunch was also quite delicious. I had the Mountain Trout, which was sauteed and topped with pecans, shaved Brussels, and a delectable apple cider butter sauce. It was exactly what I was looking for, something lite with good flavor. Caswell, who eats seafood just about everywhere we go, had the Shrimp Burger. When I saw his food come out, I have to be honest, I wanted it. LOL!
Two Birds Taphouse is a family owned restaurant owned by Jeff and Rachel Byrd, partnered with their son Dan and his wife Lauren. The idea behind it was to open a bar that they themselves would want to patronize. They did a great job! Whether you live in or near Marietta, this is a great place to stop off when taking in the beauty of Marietta square.
One of the things I’ve always intended to do with this blog is to highlight ALL of the things I love. That includes Fashion, Travel, Food, Designer Discount Shopping, and anything else that qualifies as something I enjoy. I want to begin using this outlet to emphasize more than just fashion and occasional travel posts. So from now on, you’ll start seeing more restaurant reviews, MUCH more travel related posts and I even plan to throw in some of my favorite designer discount shopping experiences! Be sure to check back here periodically to see what new things I’ve got for you!

Until next time…
