I’m working very hard to get my Patois T-Shirt Collection ready for you guys to purchase. While I continue to do that, I’ve got one final design to show you all today. It’s the Brownin V-Neck Patois T-Shirt. The word “Brownin” is basically another way to describe a light-skinned African American person. It’s that simple. Here in the States, we use the term “light-skinned” while in Jamaica, they use “Brownin”. As a light-skinned African American, I can tell you that I’ve been called this quite a bit by my Jamaican family and friends. Please be aware that this is NOT a derogatory word. It’s actually just a way of describing a person. You know, when I started this venture I didn’t realize how much work it required. I did quite a bit of research on how to start a t-shirt business and everyone made it seem so easy. I can tell you now that it hasn’t been easy at all. In fact, it’s pretty difficult. There are so many details I didn’t know I needed to think about. For example, I’m responsible for writing all of the content you’ll be seeing on the site. It doesn’t matter that I have a website designer. It’s not their responsibility to provide content and images. That is something I never thought about. Sorry to go off on a tangent like that. I just want you guys to know that I’m not holding out for the sake of building a buzz. I really have been busy.
When it came to styling the Brownin V-Neck Patois T-Shirt, I wanted to do something “Girly”. Anyone can wear a t-shirt with jeans. The whole point of StushiGal Style is for me to show you my way of styling things…and my way is always unconventional. What could be more feminine than an adorable skirt and high heels? Well that’s what I decided go with!
Here’s my look:
