Hey Everyone!
I’m working very hard to get my Patois T-Shirt Collection ready for you guys to purchase. While I continue to do that, I’ve got one final design to show you all today. It’s the Brownin V-Neck Patois T-Shirt. The word “Brownin” is basically another way to describe a light-skinned African American person. It’s that simple. Here in the States, we use the term “light-skinned” while in Jamaica, they use “Brownin”. As a light-skinned African American, I can tell you that I’ve been called this quite a bit by my Jamaican family and friends. Please be aware that this is NOT a derogatory word. It’s actually just a way of describing a person. You know, when I started this venture I didn’t realize how much work it required. I did quite a bit of research on how to start a t-shirt business and everyone made it seem so easy. I can tell you now that it hasn’t been easy at all. In fact, it’s pretty difficult. There are so many details I didn’t know I needed to think about. For example, I’m responsible for writing all of the content you’ll be seeing on the site. It doesn’t matter that I have a website designer. It’s not their responsibility to provide content and images. That is something I never thought about. Sorry to go off on a tangent like that. I just want you guys to know that I’m not holding out for the sake of building a buzz. I really have been busy. 🙂
When it came to styling the Brownin V-Neck Patois T-Shirt, I wanted to do something “Girly”. Anyone can wear a t-shirt with jeans. The whole point of StushiGal Style is for me to show you my way of styling things…and my way is always unconventional. 🙂 What could be more feminine than an adorable skirt and high heels? Well that’s what I decided go with!
Here’s my look:
