Hey Everyone!
In case you missed Monday’s post, I’m launching a collection of Jamaican Patois T-Shirts. Although I have a million things to do, I plan to launch sometime this summer. Some of you are probably wondering where this all came from. I can tell you this, it’s not something I came up with overnight. It actually took a lot of thought on my part. I’ve been mulling over this idea for quite some time. Actually as far back as 2014. I’ve always imagined myself owning an online store. As a person who loves her culture, I’ve always known that I wanted to do something that shines a spotlight on it. Coming up with the idea to do Jamaican Patois T-Shirts was easy. Finding the right person to create the designs was another story. I’m happy to say that I was able to find a designer that I really like. It’s just not easy to put yourself out there. That’s why it has taken so long for me to reveal any of this. After some encouragement from my best friend Melanie, I decided it was time to at least preview a few of the designs.
The t-shirt I’m wearing today says, “Chatty Chatty”. In Jamaica, a person is “Chatty” when they’re overly talkative to the point of irritation. These are usually the people who gossip and talk about people or tell people’s secrets. There’s even a song my dad used to listen to when I was a kid that is dedicated to it. It’s called “Chatty” and it’s by Toots and The Maytals. It’s one of my favorite songs. I absolutely love the 3-D look of this design. It pops out at you sort of the same way a person who gossips would. 🙂
Here’s my look:

I want to make sure I mention that I won’t just be offering white t-shirts. There will definitely be other colors available. White seems to photograph the best so I went with that color for the preview.
Will any of you be purchasing “Chatty Chatty” Jamaican Patois T-Shirts for the gossiping people in your life? LOL!
Until next time…
